Communing With Nature - in Vermont

How many times have you said, “I need a change, I feel cooped up, I want to smell some fresh sweet air and be active at the same time.” There is a wonderful place to accommodate those desires, to immerse yourself in a stress-free environment and be moving from morning ‘til night. It’s “Bike Vermont”, a bike tour enterprise headed by Larry Niles whose office is at 52 Pleasant Street in Woodstock, Vermont. Bike Vermont is celebrating its 30th Anniversary and now offers tours in Scotland, Ireland, and Maine.

Niles, a Vermont native, didn’t always own and manage a bike tour company.  In another life, he was an attorney. “I got tired of being a lawyer and working inside all the time. I love the outdoors and I had a feeling I could do something productive with the idea of running bike tours. It’s a healthy sport that brings everyone together, from families with children to young couples
and singles.”

Looking around his multi-windowed office, you feel almost as if you were outside, cloistered by so much deep green - the nearby mountains feel very close and the trees lean towards you.  Small, tan rabbits have taken note of edibles in the yard and make themselves right at home. In this sylvan setting, everyone has a place.
