Eating healthy is a very important part of life. Many of us forget that sometimes due to our busy life and work schedules. DASH Magazine’s Food Editor, Bert Cutino suggests that we need to eat high quality food that will satisfy and nourish us. Chef Cutino is a Certified Executive Chef and Food Manager. His standard of quality is well known by the loyal patrons of the internationally famous Sardine Factory Restaurant.

By keeping healthy recipes interesting, we can enjoy much more than just weight loss. Satisfying foods provide energy and stamina. They help heal our complexion and reduce headaches. It is very important to take the time to eat the right things and always remove ourselves from stressful environments to do so.

Tuna Salad
Total prep time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4
 
 INGREDIENTS
1 cup of black olives (chopped in circles) 
1 box of small grape size tomatoes
1 cup of dried raisins (optional)
2 cucumbers sliced in 1/4 inch circles
1 bag of regular lettuce or mixed
2 cans of tuna in water
Balsamic Vinegar
1 red onion
Salt and Pepper
This healthy and light salad is very easy to do.

Steps
1.) Wash your salad in cold water and dampen dry.
2.) In a large salad bowl, place your lettuce, one cup of chopped olives, 1 box of small tomatoes (25-30 tomatoes), one cup of dried raisins, 2 chopped cucumber (cut in circles), and one chopped red onion.
3.) Add salt and pepper to season and then mix.
4.) Open the two cans of tuna, drain out the water, mix in bowl and place on the top of the salad. 
5.) Pour desired amount of Balsamic Vinegar on the top, sprinkle with parsley and serve.
